Washing Lingerie - A few tips

Lingerie is the ultimate in sexy clothing that can make you feel good about your body and on top of the world when you wear it, however lingerie is fragile and needs to be handled with care when washing to prolong it's lifespan and maintain the quality in looks and feel when first bought.

Here are a few tips to make sure that your sexy lingerie in kept in pristine condition on every wash.

Using a washing machine

Firstly, ensure that the garment can be safely washed in the washing machine. Nearly every item of clothing carrries a label with washing, drying information.

If you usually wash everything in a washing machine then it's a good idea to use a washable laundry bag for your lingerie. The laundry bag is a small mesh bag that you place your lingerie inside and will keep it safe while washing alongside other clothes which make snag or harm the delicate fabric lingerie is usually made of.

After the washing machine has done it's bit, carefully remove the garment from the mesh bag and lay out the item flat between folds of a towel. Then press down to remove the excess water.

If the item can be dried in a tumble dryer (remember, use the clothing label as a guide to find out if it can be placed inside a dryer)  use it to dry out the garment fully. If the item cannot be placed inside a tumble dryer then use a clothes horse or peg out on a washing line in order to dry.

It's a good idea to also put your mesh laundry bag into the tumble dryer for about 10 minutes and then store away for the next time. The mesh laundry bag can be found at most good department stores or even major supermarkets.
