Need to Buy Lingerie? Some Handy Tips

It could be for Christmas, Valentines, Birthday or just for a little romance, lingerie is a perfect gift for any woman. Let's face it guys, if we buy chocolates, women complain it makes them put on weight and flowers, well...they don't last. Lingerie on the other hand could work out a good bet for both parties.

First things first, get her size. No matter what you decide to buy for her, chances are you will need to know what size to order. There is no right or wrong way of getting this information so I'm afraid you're on your own on how you ask, however there are a couple of other ways of maybe finding out undercover.

Guessing. Maybe not an ideal solution but as a last resort.. Just make sure that you keep all tags on and receipts handy in case.

The knicker drawer. By having a rumage through her underwear drawer and checking sizes on her existing bras and panties then it's a good way of getting a size. Don't get caught though as it could be quite difficult to get out of it!.

Buying a thong or skimpy costume may not be the best thing to buy as not every woman will want to show everything or may feel uncomfortable about a certain feature. Take a moment to think about what parts of her body she is happy with and what she isn't and buy to make the best of her good assets. A baby doll or short chemise is ideal for long legs. A Halter or bustier can show off her cleavage to maximum effect. You're buying for her to wear so make sure that she will be happy and want to put it on.

Choosing a colour is just as important as sizing and popular colours such as black, red or white are usually a safe bet. There are hundreds of styles, prints and pastel variations of basic colours available. A rough guide is redheads suit greens, blues, earthy tones. Blondes have more fun with pastels and brunettes look good in purple, emerald green and any strong colours.

Lingerie is available in many fabrics and a good guide is to buy the garment in the fabric you like to touch and feel, after all you're likely to be touching and feeling it most. When buying online, stick with fabrics that you know about. Silks and satins are probably the most popular choices.

Lastly, why not go that extra bit and get her lingerie gift wrapped. Soho-lingerie provides a gift wrap option for a small charge on all their products. Add to it, a bottle of wine or champagne (if the budget allows), some soft music, a nice dinner and it could be an interestiing evening.
