The Teddy and Where It Comes From

The teddy, a popular lingerie garment, which can be basically described as a camisole with panties in one piece. Originally the teddy was marketed as a camiknicker in the 1920's although it didn't hit it's height until during World War 2 as women were needed to work in factories making ammunition and other war equipment in place of men and the teddy was an ideal undergarment to wear under their work clothes allowing comfort and flexibility.

The garment disappeared after the war and it was not until the 1990's that the teddy once again was popular. This time as a lingerie garment, although there are different types of teddy available today. There is a visual teddy, for those who want to add some extra sparkle in the bedroom and a sleepwear teddy, simply for sleeping in.

Teddys can have open backs, detachable garters or can enhance a woman's body as a body shaper. This sexy lingerie garment comes in various colours, designs and choices of fabric including silk and satin.
